How to Access the Virtual History Centre

To access the Virtual History Centre a teacher needs to signup for an account and install some virtual worlds viewer software. The Login URI for the Virtual History Centre is: http://virtualhistory.metaverseworlds.com:8002/

Follow the instructions below to get setup!

Step 1: Setup Student Accounts

To get started, teachers need to signup their students for accounts at the Virtual History Centre. Accounts are FREE!  Click here to access the Virtual History Centre Signup Form.

Please note: It may take up to 24hrs for your BETA account to be created. Please be patient! 

Step 2: Install and Configure Your Viewer

To access the Virtual History Centre you will need to install virtual worlds viewer software, which allows you to login and use your avatar inworld.

There are several different options for virtual Worlds viewers – we recommend the Imprudence Viewer.

Once you have downloaded the software that’s right for your system, install it on your computer by running the setup files and following the instructions.

Step 3: Configure your viewer

After you have installed your the Imprudence Viewer, you will need to configure your viewer to access the Virtual History Centre. Follow these steps:

1. Click on the Grid Manager Button in the Viewer

2. On the pop-up window, click the Add New Grid Button to add the Virtual History Centre Grid Details

3. Add the Grid Name ‘virtualhistory’ and configure by adding the following Login URI in the dialogue box:  http://virtualhistory.metaverseworlds.com:8002/

5. Click Get Grid Info Button to load the grid details.

The following should appear:

Click the Apply button to complete the process and then click ok.

Step 4: Ready to Login!

That’s it! You’re ready to login. Close the Grid Info interface and enter your username and password.

Ensure that the Virtual History Centre is selected in the Grid drop down menu and click the Login Button! You will arrive at the Virtual History Centre Landing Zone.
